About Common Man Books and the Common Man Hiking and Biking Trail Guide Series
Common Man Books are trail guides written by a couple of middle-aged guys,
who aren't, by any stretch of the imagination, marathoners. The guides
are written for people who:
- Like to walk but don't like to sweat a lot
- Don't have a lot of time for a long hike
- May not know the area well
- Are looking for places to go and enjoy some quiet time with the family
- Are looking for places to spend some quiet time without the family
- All of the trails take you interesting places, offering you the choice of
going anywhere from a half-mile on foot up to 20 miles or so on your bike.
Each guide includes:
- More than 75 color photographs
- Easy to follow directions that always start from an Interstate highway
- Short description of each hike
- Approximate time that it should take you to complete each walk or hike
- A guide to interesting historical or natural wonders along the way
- A list of facilities, hours, fees and parking
- A category for each hike (easy, moderate or difficult)
- A log sheet for each hike or ride
